Rashi Narang is the visionary Founder of Heads Up For Tails (HUFT)—India’s most trusted pet care brand. In 2008, she embarked on this venture with a singular mission: to simplify and enhance the experience of pet parenting in India.

Rashi’s deep love for animals found a personal connection when she became a parent to her dog, Sara. In her quest for functional toys for Sara, she discovered a gap in the market—there weren’t any ideal options available. The challenge intensified when, on Sara’s birthday, Rashi struggled to find safe and healthy treats, as many food labels listed harmful chemicals and ingredients. This pivotal moment sparked an entrepreneurial idea, propelling Rashi onto her journey to fill these gaps in the pet care industry.

Speaking to The ESTD about the inception of HUFT, Rashi shared, “That was the moment when I realised that there are other people like myself who want to give their pets the best life that they can, so I started my research, and of course, there was nothing available in India. This was 14 years ago, and the sector was still niche and nascent. So I started building a couple of products for my dog.”

The initial product conceptualised by Rashi for HUFT was a dog bed, and while progress started at a gradual pace, today, HUFT has flourished, extending its presence to over 80 stores across the country. Notably, in the fiscal year 2023, HUFT successfully raised ₹185 crores, and it aims to achieve a gross revenue of ₹275 crores in the fiscal year 2024.

Discussing her vision for HUFT, Rashi shared, “We aspire to take HUFT global and will be exploring geographies closer to us, including the Middle East and Southeast Asia.”

Rashi, in addition to being a successful entrepreneur, is a devoted mom to her tween daughter. During their leisure time, the mother-daughter duo enjoy spending quality moments together, often engaging in activities with their furry companions. Notably, Rashi’s daughter shares her creative flair and frequently contributes as a designer for HUFT products.
