New mum Alia Bhatt is enjoying her new role as a mum ever since she gave birth to her daughter Raha on 6 November 2022. She gives us glimpses of her everyday life as a new mum via her social media posts and we are loving it! Her videos are positive and inspiring for all new mums.
Alia is also taking time out to take care of her body post pregnancy and she often shares her workout videos on her Instagram. But it’s the inspiring messages about body positivity that Alia Bhatt shares that have caught everyone’s attention.
Recently Alia shared a video of Titanic actress Kate Winslet from an episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast and requested her fans to watch the video. Here’s why; In the video, Kate talks about the abuse she faced from her fans and the media when she was gaining weight. She spoke about how it all made her deeply insecure and terrified.
Kate says, “I would have responded. I would have said, ‘Don’t you dare treat me like this. I’m a young woman, my body is changing, I’m figuring it out, I’m deeply insecure, I’m terrified, don’t make this any harder than it already is. ‘That’s bullying, you know, and actually borderline abusive’, I would say. Even if an actress walks on a red carpet, and happens to look amazing, in whatever she is wearing, the fact that people will say, ‘looks honed and toned’, or a dreadful word ‘svelte’, don’t even say it! It’s such an irresponsible thing to do. It feeds directly into young women aspiring to ideas of perfection that don’t exist. Aspiring to have bodies that the press is saying we have.”
Earlier too Alia had shared a picture of herself inside the gym, while she was doing her post-partum fitness exercise. Along with the picture Alia shared a note talking about body positivity. She shared that it took her almost a month and a half post her delivery to be able to attempt the yoga asana that she is seen doing in the picture.
She gave her body time to gradually rebuild after the pregnancy and took guidance from her yoga teacher. She advises all new mums to listen to their bodies post-delivery. “To my fellow mamas, listening to your body post-delivery is key. Do NOT do anything your gut tells you not to,” wrote Alia.
She also mentioned how she has taken a vow to never be hard on herself. She is trying to find balance and stability once again after embracing motherhood. In her post, she said that for the first week when she started her workouts, all she did was breathe, walk and find her balance.
She wrote, “Take your time – appreciate what your body has done. After what my body did this year I have taken a vow to never be hard on myself again. Childbirth is a miracle in every way, and giving your body that love and support that it gave you is the least we can do. P.S – every body is different – pls speak to your doctor before doing anything that involves exercise.”
This super mum is taking it slow and steady to get back into shape.
