Monsoon season weakens the immune system and prone to many infections in Kids. One of the most common infections due to temperature fluctuations is cold and cough in Kids. Cold and Cough does not leave anyone. There is no relief for the common cold and cough, but there are ways to minimize it’s uneasy symptoms.
1. Ginger tea-
It is a miracle food and cures sore throat and cold. Boil a few slices of ginger in water. Cool at room temperature and have it.
2. Vitamin C-
Eat fruits rich in vitamin C, as it has healing properties for sore throat and cough. You can have grapefruit, oranges, and lemon.
3. Drink lemon tea with honey.
4. Milk and Turmeric-
This is an effective way to fight cough. Good for both adults and kids.
5. Water-
Drinking Luke warm water reduces the inflammation in the throat and washed out the infections from the body.
6. Special Tea-
You can add Tulsi, ginger and black pepper. These are important ingredients to fight with common cold and cough.
7. Ginger/Tulsi-
Take out the juice of ginger and Tulsi and some honey in it.
8. Jaggery solution-
Boil jaggery with water and add black pepper and cumin to it. It will give relief to chest congestion.
9. Warm mustard oil massage-
Mustard oil with 2 garlic cloves. Massage gently on baby’s chest and feet.
10. Cumin and Ajwain-
Boil cumin and ajwain with water and give to the kid when it cools down.
11. Soups-
Vegetables and chicken soup, these soups increase the immunity of the body and give comfort during colds and coughs.
12. Coconut oil massage-
Warm coconut oil with 2-3 leaves of Tulsi and massage gently on the chest, palm and feet.
13. Ghee with a pinch of black pepper-
It surely gives relief to your baby’s cold and cough.
14. Saffron milk-
Saffron (Kesar) milk is excellent during colds and coughs. Drink it before sleeping.
15. Nasal saline drops-
It helps in clearing the nose and gives relief to kids in breathing.
16. Use Humidifier-
It can help ease the dryness in the air and will help make breathing easier when your child has a blocked nose.
17. Gargle therapy-
Take Luke warm water with salt and a pinch of turmeric in it. And give it to a kid for gargle.
18. Steam-
One of the best remedies is to open up the stuffy nose. For kids use a steamer in the room.
Apart from all these remedies ensure that your kid takes proper rest.
