Kareena Kapoor Khan is one of those actresses who is always candid about the different experiences in her life. Throughout her pregnancies, the ctor was refreshingly open about the struggles that come with the experience and also offered her fans tips on staying healthy and fit during this crucial time.
In fact, from discussing the benefits of prenatal yoga and advocating for homemade food, the celebrity mum has given plenty of holistic inspiration to other expecting women. To take her efforts a notch further, Kareena also published her first book, “Pregnancy Bible,” entailing her pregnancy experiences and motherhood journey.
The good news is that Kareena Kapoor Khan’s book is now available in the form of an audiobook on Audible and you can tune into the podcast any time of the day, at your convenience to receive the ultimate guidance on motherhood and get answers to pertinent pregnancy-related questions.
In this post, we give you essential insights into Kareena Kapoor Khan’s pregnancy and motherhood journey, as she has shared in her first book, Pregnancy Bible.
Kareena Kapoor revealed that her role models will always be her mum and her mum-in-law, who continued working during pregnancy. She said, “My mum-in-law was the first to tell me that I should keep working. She herself did some great work in the movies after her marriage and kids and is a real inspiration to me. My mum is also a strong role model for me, and she told me that I must keep at my work during pregnancy,” she added.
The celeb mum also revealed the advice she received from these monumental women and added, “I was told not to feel overwhelmed with my pregnancy, and get on with my daily hustle, as long as my body and doctor permit it.”
“So I thought, what the heck, and plunged not into one but two pregnancies, and now I have these two tots in my life who make every day a little crazy, a little special, a little exhausting, and a whole lot rewarding.”
The mum-of-two revealed that both her pregnancy experiences were quite different. She said, “My two pregnancies have been completely different. When I was pregnant with Taimur, it was like a movie, the whole thing was like a dream. But when I was pregnant with Jeh, reality hit, as it was much harder.”
Kareena also emphasises how it is important to stay determined and pay attention to your body’s requirements during pregnancy. She also shared that despite her different experiences, she approached both her pregnancies casually.
The celeb mum revealed, “I have done everything I wanted to. From working to taking holidays, and even shooting for this book as I approached my due date. If there’s one thing that I had in common in both pregnancies, then it will surely be my determination.”
In the audiobook, Kareena also discussed her pregnancy indulgences and cravings. She also talked about pregnancy weight gain and stated, “My appetite increased tangibly every trimester. However, during both of my pregnancies, I was absolutely comfortable with the weight I gained.”
Kareena also discussed the importance of treating your pregnancy cravings with ease, and as long as you are keeping your nutrition in check, eating ice cream or pizza sometimes would do no harm.
Talking about experiencing hunger pangs during her second trimester, Kareena added, “I noticed a significant increase in my appetite during the second trimester in both pregnancies. Feeling hungry is quite normal, and after the morning sickness and nausea, you’ve experienced in the first trimester, your second trimester will likely renew your appetite. This is unjust because your baby is growing and demanding more nourishment from you.”
Kareena also talked about the three vital stages of labour and how in some cases, mums may not even recognise the different stages. She revealed that this is why it is important for expecting mums to keep an eye out for pre-labour signs to ensure a healthy delivery.
Kareena also discussed some of the tell-tale pre-labour signs that pregnant women should watch out for, and added, “You may feel a sudden boost in your energy before your due date, experience loose motions, or notice a lumpy brown discharge in your underwear. You may also experience back pain or thigh pain.”
The mum-of-two also added, “As you approach your due date, be on a careful watch for signs of bleeding, water leaking, or mucus plug passing.”
In her book, Kareena stressed upon the importance of taking adequate rest after childbirth. She said, “Exhaustion post-childbirth is a normal occurrence, and you don’t have to worry about it. But what you should focus on is taking adequate rest and embracing the process.
Kareena is a big advocator for holistic living and encourages women to follow key principles to ensure a safe and healthy pregnancy. According to Kareena’s nutritionist, Rujuta Diwekar, it is essential for women to be healthy even before they conceive.
She also said that during pregnancy, every woman should sleep on time, exercise and eat right, and drink plenty of water to support their health.
There’s no denying that Kareena Kapoor Khan’s book, Pregnancy Bible is the ultimate guide for mums and answers pertinent pregnancy questions.
