Bollywood has been on a baby boom this year. Some of our favourite celebrities like Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja to Bipasha Basu have joined the list of celebrity first-time parents in 2022. 

2022 is coming to an end and the year saw many celebrities from Bollywood embrace parenthood. While 2023 is ready to see many more celebrities welcome their bundle of joy, let’s take a look at some of the celebrity first-time parents in 2022.

Alia Bhatt And Ranbir Kapoor

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor surprised all their fans with the announcement of Alia’s pregnancy, post their marriage in June, when they took to Instagram to announce her pregnancy. The post received millions of likes and all their fans were eagerly waiting for them to announce the arrival of their baby. On 6 Novemeber this year, the first-time parents welcomed their baby girl.

Alia Bhatt’s baby announcement post said, “And in the best news of our lives: Our baby is here…and what a magical girl she is. We are officially bursting with love – blessed and obsessed Parents!!! love love love Alia and Ranbir.” She posted the announcement along with a picture of a lion family.  The proud new parents have named their little girl Raha. 

Alia is enjoying motherhood and recently shared a post in which she was seen holding a mug with ‘Mama’ written on it. She captioned it saying “It me,” followed by a yellow heart emoji. 

Bipasha Basu And Karan Singh Grover

Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover had been trying to embrace parenthood for quite some time and their wish has finally come true. They were blessed with a baby girl on 12 November and the doting new parents went all out to announce their baby girl’s arrival. 

Their daughter was born after six years of their marriage and they have named her Devi. Bipasha is like every proud mum who keeps sharing adorable pictures of her little one on her social media handles. 

Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja 

Before the birth of her son, Sonam Kapoor announced the news of her pregnancy in an Instagram post with a sweet note that read, “Four hands. To raise you the very best we can. Two hearts. That will beat in unison with yours every step of the way. One family. Who will shower you with love and support. We can’t wait to welcome you.”

Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja became first-time parents with the birth of their son Vayu on 20 August. Since then she has been sharing glimpses of her baby boy with her fans on social media and has even given fans a peek into her beautiful baby’s nursery.

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas 

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas welcomed their baby girl via surrogacy on On 15 January this year. The first-time celebrity parents took to Instagram to announce the exciting news with their fans. Nick who is active on social media, described the experience of becoming a dad on Instagram and said it was ‘quite crazy.’  He added, “Our little baby is home, and she is simply fantastic.”

The two are enjoying every moment as first-time parents to their daughter Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, Malti’s homecoming was special as via she spent her first 100 days in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and was brought home just before Mother’s Day.  

Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa

Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa are every bit the elated new parents. Bharati gave birth to their son on 3 April and they recorded the entire journey for two days before the delivery of their son Laksh. They shared it with their fans on their YouTube channel. 

Both Bharati and Haarsh are enjoying parenthood as is evident from their updates about their son on their social media handles, where they share his pictures and videos. 

Kajal Aggarwal and Gautam Kitchlu

Kajal Aggarwal and her husband Gautam Kitchlu welcomed a baby boy on 19 April. The elated new mum took to Instagram to share her excitement and wrote, “I want you to know how precious you are and always will be to me. The moment I held you in my arms, held your tiny little hand in mine, felt your warm breath and saw your beautiful eyes, I knew I was in love forever.” 

The new parents to join the first-time celebrity parents gang have been doing their parenting duties like pros. The two seem to be enjoying their new roles as is evident from the pictures they share on social media with their fans. From taking the little one to the beach to playing with him and cuddling him to sleep, the two of them are enjoying parenthood.  

Hazel Keech and Yuvraj Singh 

Hazel Keech and Yuvraj Singh became parents on 25 January this year. They have named their little boy Orion Keech Singh and shared the news of his birth on their respective Twitter handles, “To all our fans, family and friends, we are elated to share that today God blessed us with a baby boy. We thank God for this blessing and wish you to respect our privacy as we welcome the little one into the world Love, Hazel and Yuvraj,” said the statement.

Even though their son Orion was born in January, the new parents were very protective about sharing his pictures on Instagram in public and only shared two of the baby’s pictures in June, finally making all their eager fans happy. 

There is no greater happiness than holding your little one in your arms and the feeling of being parents for these first-time celebrity parents is no different.
