Anuja Lunkad Joshi, a former educationist turned entrepreneur, is the Founder of Interflora—an esteemed floral company specialising in crafting exclusive decors for events and weddings. Beyond this venture, Anuja is also the creative force behind IPG.com, a personalised gifts platform, the beloved PropShop24—a comprehensive hub showcasing an array of home-grown and stationary brands, and Masqa— a luxurious chocolate company.

Anuja’s entrepreneurial journey commenced when she made the difficult decision to leave her school job and step into her family’s business following her father’s passing. However, amidst the journey, she sensed an unfulfilled void, a yearning to create something uniquely her own. 

In a candid conversation with the Humans of Bombay, Anuja opened up about the origin story of Interflora and shared, “I started reflecting back to my travel experiences, and one recurring memory captured my attention—the enchanting life-sized floral decor that adorned various places, notably absent in India at the time. Motivated by this realization, I decided to introduce the opulent floral lifestyle to our nation.”

The path from conceiving the idea to its actual execution proved to be a challenging journey for Anuja and her husband, Tarun. They quickly recognised a significant gap in the supply chain within India, realising they would need to build it from the ground up. But, she did not let this obstacle deter her, and pressed forward, and in 2017, she successfully launched Interflora at a small factory space in Mahim.

Presently, her luxury floral brand has experienced exponential growth and earned notable acclaim, catching the attention of some of Bollywood’s top stars. Anuja designed exquisite floral decor for weddings, such as Alia Bhatt-Ranbir Kapoor and Kiara Advani-Siddharth Malhotra.

Due to her extraordinary contributions to the entrepreneurial landscape, Anuja has been honoured with the ‘Woman Entrepreneur of the Year’ at the Startup Awards, 2023.

Anuja is also a mother of two lovely toddlers, and beyond the realms of business and creativity, she finds immense joy in dedicating quality time to her daughters and making unique and memorable experiences with them.
