Niru Kumar is a medical doctor, psychologist, diversity and inclusion consultant, and Neuro Linguistic Programming expert. This year she has been honored with the Padma Shree, one of the highest civilian awards, based on her work done in diversity and inclusion.

She is also the National Icon and Board Member of the Election Commission of India, and has been powerfully impacting and transforming lives through a unique blend of expertise in modern medicine, psychology, coaching skills, and NLP.

In an interview with The Print she said that women were asked to make a choice between having a baby or coming to work.

“It was my responsibility to convince them [the leaders] that they are here because of a professional choice and you cannot look at them as non-serious employees. I would say the culture changes, the language changes, and by the end of the day, I would see the transformation,” she noted.
