Keeping your baby away from diaper rashes seems impossible, but following a few hygiene habits and understanding why your baby keeps developing diaper rashes can help you say a quick bye to them.

Diaper rashes in the baby could be due to fungal or bacterial infection, excessive friction between the diaper and the skin, wearing a small-sized diaper, leaving the diaper dirty or wet for a long time, wearing tight clothes, or multi-layered clothes, or an allergic reaction to the diaper used.

When the baby gets diaper rashes, the baby tends to get cranky, fussy, irritated, and cry often.

There are a few simple ways to avoid or treat diaper rashes and get your baby back happy and smiling:

  • Use an appropriate size of baby diaper.
  • Keep checking the diaper and change it as soon as baby passes motion , or when it’s full of urine.
  • Apply moisturizer or petroleum gel on and around to buttocks to reduce friction.
  • Keep your hands clean when changing the diaper.
  • Do not rub the baby’s skin vigorously to clean it. Gentle dabbing or pat dry is suitable.
