This morning, news broke out that TV queen – Ekta Kapoor – has welcomed her first child. The baby boy was born via surrogacy and as expected details of the mother are kept under wraps. Reports state that the kid was born on January 27, and the entire Kapoor clan are planning to host a big celebration for the industry folks.
Over the years, there has been a lot of speculation about Ekta Kapoor’s wedding. Many thought that she was in a relationship with Karan Johar but the duo was quick to deny it. Kapoor, in fact. stated that marriage was not on her mind and she was happy being single. Now, she has taken a huge decision of being a single mother but we are sure that she’ll balance her career and her personal life perfectly.
Last year, was great for Kapoor as her film, Veere Di Wedding, was a box-office success. She also launched shows on her digital platform ALTBalajai. Ekta Kapoor began her journey with saas-bahu operas like Kahani Ghar Ghar Kii, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, and Kasautii Zindagii Kay. Those shows topped the TRPs charts and made Smriti Irani and Sakshi Tanwar overnight stars. But now with urban audience preferring modern shows, Kapoor shifted focus n her OTT platform. She’s always tweaked her content as per the change trends and that is what has made her so successful.
Kapoor’s younger brother Tusshar too has a son through surrogacy. Laksshya, who was born in June 2016, is actually named by his aunt. Ekta’s good friend Karan Johar has also followed this path and is a proud dad to twins – Yash and Roohi. The director’s kids are actually named after parents. Surrogacy is legal in India but there are various terms and conditions in order to prevent the misuse of this option.
