Bollywood’s little princess, Aradhya Bachchan, celebrated her 7th birthday on 16 of November 2018. Just like every year, Aradhya had a colourful and vibrant birthday this time as well.
This time’s celebrations however, were even more colourful, thanks to the theme of the party.
As per the pictures, the theme was rainbows and unicorns, and we think this is a perfect theme for a seven year old. We noticed that the family, especially mom Aishwarya Rai and dad Abhishek, had worn rainbow colours and pastel shades for the party and it made the event look even more colourful.
The who’s who of Bollywood and their kids made it to the party and made it a grand affair. Apart from the lovely decorations and the way the growing birthday girl posed for the pictures, what we loved was the gorgeous cake. The cake had all the colours of the rainbow on it, and the cute unicorns sitting on the cake took it to another level.
The birthday cake is what every child looks forward to in a birthday party. Whether it is theme based, has the child’s favourite colour or has an edible imprint of the child’s favourite character, kids’ birthday cakes need a good deal of planning. Here are few tips to select the perfect birthday cake for your child.
Go according to age
Theme-based cakes are tricky to get made. It might work to make an elaborate theme cake if your child is bigger, but for little kids, go for simple cakes with just a colour theme or a plain coloured cake with minimum embellishments, as fondant and colour does not suit young palates.

Cupcake cakes
Kids love cupcakes! Have a colourful array of cupcakes or a cake made with cupcakes that the kids can dive into. Saves the trouble of cutting and serving.

Try homemade
Trust homemade cakes made by home bakers over the ones made by commercial bakeries. The ingredients will be fresher and more genuine.

Keep simple embellishments
It feels tempting to make an all-edible cake with elaborate and intricate decorations. But most of these decorations are made of colour and sugar paste and don’t really do anything for kids’ tummies. Keep toy add ons or minimum embellishments made of fondant on the cake
Go the digi print way when in doubt
When in doubt or budget, go the edible image topper way. They’re the simplest way to get your child’s favourite character on the cake.
A birthday is a special day for a child and for you. Make it more memorable with the sweetest things on offer, your hugs and the perfect cake!
