Everybody loves food..including your little ones! Food is something that will help your school-going kid make new friends. You know why? Simple! Food brings people closer. It is the best way to teach your child the concept of ‘sharing’.

So, why not make some delicious, healthy food for your little darling and help them make friends!

Here’s a list of 5 super healthy lunch ideas.

1. Fruit salad

Think small, because your child is too small to have what you may call a regular lunch. They are too young for heavy food. Though, there’s no need to worry. Fruits are there to help you in this case. Just chop different fruits, preferably your child’s favourites, and mix them together. Voila, your fruit salad is ready!

Sprinkle chaat masala over the fruits to enhance the taste of the fruits. If your child has more of a sweet tooth, some chocolate or caramel sauce will do. This will get your child to like fruits a lot more and you can introduce them to different fruits in this manner.

Kids get really hungry after physical activities in school. So, even if they don’t really like the idea of eating fruits, they will consume it to satisfy their hunger.

2. Sprout salad

Your little munchkin deserves the best for being the best kid ever! Treat your kid to some healthy sprout salad. It is really simple to make. It just needs a little planning because you need to soak pulses for a day so they can germinate.

Chop onions and tomatoes into finely diced pieces, you can add pieces of other vegetables or even fruits to it, and mix it with the sprouts. Sprinkle some salt and chaat masala on it along with few drops of squeezed lemon.

Garnish with finely chopped coriander and pack it in your child’s favourite lunch box.

3. Parantha roll

This is one of the easiest and most nutritious foods. It is quite filling at the same time. Cook small paranthas and glaze it with some ghee or butter to retain the softness. Smear some jam or ketchup on it (or whatever your child likes).

Spread a few cooked veggies tossed in salt and butter onto the parantha.

Wrap it in a tin foil to retain the freshness.

Voila! Your paratha wrap is ready to be packed.

4. Flavoured curd

Blend some milk with your choice of fruits and blend it till you obtain a smooth paste. Let it ferment a little to turn it into curd. Add some chopped fruits to it to make it more appealing and exciting!

It stays fresh and it is super healthy for your child, especially to beat the heat during summer.

5. Milkshake

If your kid is more of a chocolate person, chocolate or fruit milkshakes are your ‘seal the deal’ kind of options to get your child nourished. All you need do is serve the milkshake in a spill free jar! Stir it up and pour it in a sipper and surprise your little one with this delicious and healthy treat.
