While motherhood does come with a serious set of responsibilities, it also brings with it a whole new depth and perspective. Being a mother to two little girls and running a start-up at the same time, means that personal time and down-time are limited resources for now. However, time does fly by and both babies and the start-up are growing every day so I’m trying to cherish every moment!

Mom Inc. Story

Parenthood definitely breeds creativity. When you become a parent, you look around and analyse your pain points and try to find creative ways to ease the demands on parenting.
When I became a mother, I noticed two things – 1) That kids seemed to want to eat lots of small meals often (ie they snack a lot!) 2) The options for ready-to-eat, natural, preservative-free snacks in India where non-existent.

When my older daughter was about 18 months old, I knew that I needed to do something to fill the gap for healthy food. However, it wasn’t till about three years later that I actually quit my job at Godrej Industries and decided to focus on building out The Mumum Co. 

I was fortunate enough that a common friend introduced me to Shreya (my partner) at a birthday party and we hit it off. Little did I know that she would become my “work-wife” a few months later. Finding a kindred spirit as passionate about creating healthy food options has been incomparable. We are two mums extremely committed to creating better nutrition options for India’s children and are as committed to growing a sustainable and successful business. Right now, The Mumum Co. has a plethora of healthy snacks for kids in the market. Advice for Mompreneurs

Our entrepreneurial journey is a little less than two years old and we have had many moments of joy, as well as, innumerable hurdles along the way.

The ride is fraught with its highs and lows but to see something you have built from scratch grow can be incomparable to any job. We are sure there will be many more fires to fight and we still have a very long way to go!
