At this month’s checkup, you will have your weight and blood pressure recorded as usual. The doctor will examine your abdomen for the size and height of the uterus. You will also hear your baby’s heartbeat on the Doppler.
So what new can you expect this month? Well, this month you might have a detailed anomaly scan which will allow you and your partner to see all the different parts of your baby. This scan is done to ensure that all your baby’s organs are developing normally.
The doctor will discuss upcoming tests like the glucose tolerance test with you. You will have to get this test done during week 28.
You can also expect a discussion on where you would like to give birth as you will need to register at a hospital for your delivery.
Be ready to receive a tetanus shot this month. There are two tetanus shots scheduled during pregnancy at an interval of a month between them.
Your doctor will also explain what fetal movements feel like and how to count your baby’s kicks.
