The museum is home to Mumbai's heritage and culture, featuring arts and crafts, artifacts which showcase the lives of the Mumbaikars in the early years.

It also traces the history of India’s traditional craftsmanship as well as the daily lives through clay dioramas from the 19th as well as the 20th century.
